Potential Suppliers

Ford Motor Company
OUR EXPECTATIONS OF OUR SUPPLIERS
Ford Motor Company works to develop long-term business relationships, in which all parties are committed to working together to achieve shared and customer-driven goals. Suppliers to Ford are expected to meet certain expectations to achieve our goals as the success of Ford Motor Company's final product depends largely on the contributions of our suppliers.

Quality

Quality is the key to customer satisfaction. The integrity of Ford Motor Company's products, as well as the Company's name, is rooted in a total commitment to quality. Global success is a team effort - a true partnership in the quest for excellence.

Ford Motor Company recognizes that it will not achieve and sustain high quality without the full support of our suppliers. In order to meet our high quality standards, we require that production material suppliers' manufacturing sites achieve and maintain Q1 status which is the minimum acceptable performance level.

Non-production goods, services, tooling and equipment have differing requirements and should be discussed with the Ford Buyer.

Cost

In order to be globally competitive, Ford Motor Company needs to continuously identify, and source to, the most globally competitive suppliers and continuously identify opportunities for material cost reductions. To effectively reach this objective, Ford Motor Company needs the help of suppliers. We work with our suppliers closely to implement joint efforts, such as Team Value Management (TVM) and Consumer Driven 6-Sigma, to improve quality and find cost efficiencies.

Innovation and Technology

We have recommitted ourselves to boundless innovation in everything we do from design, to safety, to fuel-efficiency, and efficiency on our manufacturing floor. We are working hard to foster a culture that encourages fresh new thinking and breakthrough ideas. Suppliers play an active role in collaborating on new technology and driving innovation. Over the years, our suppliers have provided a unique perspective on consumer wants and the technologies required to meet those wants.
